Friends

Our Friends of the Library groups are an important part of Coffey County Library.  New members and returning members are always welcome!  Please contact the libraries listed below for more information and the date of the next meeting.

Gridley Friends of the Library

The Gridley Friends of the Library Group meets quarterly on the second Monday of the month.  Gridley Friends help with the library’s float for the annual Fourth of July parade; hold an annual book sale the first full week of November; fund special projects and purchase equipment for the library.

Waverly Friends of the Library

Waverly Friends of the Library meets quarterly on the first Wednesday of February, May, August and November at 5:30 at the library.  For the past several years, the Friends group has taken over landscaping at the Waverly Branch as a fund raiser and community project.  The Waverly Friends group has a book sale the first two weeks of February (proceeds go to help with summer reading), hosts a plant exchange in May, supports “Grandbuddies” the Intergenerational program and sponsors an evening program in October for Kansas Library Month.  They also help with refreshments when needed and anything else that comes up.

LeRoy Friends of the Library

The Friends of the LeRoy Library meet twice a year. There is no set meeting date or time. The main fundraiser for the group is a can recycling project. The Friends group help out any time they are called to help with refreshments. They provide refreshments yearly for the Love Lights a Tree event held in November.  In 2010, the Friends group donated $300.00 for the new Nintendo Wii system.
